Patient Profiling/Drug Utilization Reviews |

In Managed Care Plans, Patient Profiling allows the Plan to
identify over-utilization, inappropriate prescribing, waste
and fraud. Patient Profiling is the starting point of Drug
Utilization Reviews where the AUDITRACK© System analyzes
the data and prepares reports for Pharm/DUR Staff Pharmacists
to review.
Many Managed Care Plans may also be interested in a similar program called
a "Lock In" Program. Whereby patients with aberrent utilization patterns are
limited to a specific pharmacy for all of their pharmacy services.
